i KNOW this can be done

50 homes for 50 cats (or perhaps less than 50 homes if some take more than one cat). i'd be first in line EXCEPT i am wickedly allergic to cats. i love them, but i cannot live with them. there ARE 50 homes in connecticut and southern mass for these cats. it should BE NO PROBLEM.

50 Cats Need New Home Fast

EAST GRANBY, Conn. -- The clock is ticking for dozens of cats in East Granby that are facing a deadline with death. A woman caring for the cats is getting evicted, and if the animals don't get a new home by next week, they could be put-down. Holly Harris has rescued animals for more than two decades. In essence, she runs her own no-kill shelter of sorts. She spends her own money to vaccinate and fix the animals she takes in.
Recently though, the fire marshal deemed the apartment and barn in which she and the cats live unsafe and illegal. This means that she has only four days to find a good place for 50 cats to live.........

........Anyone who wants to help out and adopt one of the cats can reach Harris anytime by e-mailing her or by calling her at 860-371-9496. ...........

I emailed her Jan 25,2008.My mother left several voice mails on Jan. 26th. Neither of us received a response.TODAY is Feb 23,2008, almost a month later and today she emailed me back. In my email I explained I was interested in adopting a few cats and I also left my phone number. She emailed today that 9 cats are at the Newington Humane Society and approx 20 at the Stafford Vet Center. In the past month my mother has found two other cats and I found a cat online.IF she was truly interested in helping those cats she would have returned ALL calls and emails a MONTH ago.TOO BAD the television news channels of 8 and 61 didn't spend more time investigating her motives. She was not a rescue shelter if she was she would have done things properly and had those cats to the vet and housed them so they did not end up pregnant again before being spayed or neutered. She had her 15mins of fame.Too bad for the cats that her pleas on the news and in the news paper were hollow.

i have no idea why she waited a month to contact you. i'm sorry about that. i HOPE you are wrong about her motives though. i cannot say, i don't know her nor have i ever met her.

it seems like you and your mom's motives are genuine and i'm glad there are people like you in the world who care about animals.
