Sgt. Zena Campbell was looking for excitement five years ago, when she enlisted in the Connecticut National Guard.Excitement is what she got in the past two years as she trained to become a military police officer and then was deployed to Germany.Campbell, 23, of Waterbury, and about 130 other members of the 643rd Military Police Company had two extensions to their deployment as they patrolled several German towns and tracked down suspected terrorists before returning home in July. The unit of the state National Guard was honored Sunday in a welcome ceremony that Campbell and about 50 others in her unit attended at the State Armory in Hartford. They received the national defense medal, the global war on terrorism service medal and the armed forces reserve medal with "M" device...........
