no they were in my inbox at work this morning. my friend gail sent them to me (i asked her if i could post them). she lives out that way. up route 44 past canton WAY up there............

i worked in avon for YEARS. we saw lots of great animals all of the time. even a bear once. of course avon is being built up like crazy now. it's a shame.

i work in hartford now and i even see bunnies from time to time and of course we have hawks.
i personally have never seen a moose. I WANT TO THOUGH!

I remember when I was a little kid, a friend of my father's went moose hunting and, I guess, bagged a moose. So he brought the ENTIRE moose to our house and gave it to my father and mother, who then sent to a butcher shop I guess. Bottom line is that we were eating MOOSE MEAT for months on end: moose steaks, moose burgers, whatever !! Given that I no longer eat meat, it's a little distressing to think about !!

we never had moose. when i was a child, one of my grandmothers tried to sneak rabbit into her polenta. i took one bite and KNEW something wasn't right. i never liked meat even then. i've been vegetarian (and now doing my best to be vegan but i use honey and silk and wool. i'm NOT perfect contrary to popular belief)for more than half of my life

hey! i just say a moose today (9-24-06) in HARTLAND,CT. I was walking a trail and stopped dead in my tracks. I slowly walked back til I thought it was safe. Then i ran to the car. I never saw one in my life. My heart didn't stop racing until an hour later. It was huge. Would it of been a danger to me? What should i do next time if i see one?

i don't think they are a danger. however, they are huge and i would imagine if provoked, will attack. i would just say keep your distance. keep a camera with you too!
