Couple arrested for leaving child in car while they shopped
(West Hartford-WTNH, Feb. 20, 2006 5:45 PM) _ An Avon couple has been charged with leaving their child in a vehicle while they went shopping on Sunday.
Police say that Jason Davis and Lucy Hayes Davis left their 3-year-old alone in the car for at least 30 minutes while they shopped in a West Hartford shopping plaza.
Police say the temperature was 23 degrees. A witness saw the child in the vehicle for 10 minutes and called police.
Police say the couple was exiting a store when they arrived on the scene.
