i don't know if mr krayeske is a threat or not

i don't know if he was running to the parade to get into jodi rell's face OR if he, like he said, was running to get a PICTURE of jodi rell.

what i DO know now is hartford (or perhaps ALL of connecticut) has a WATCHLIST of "POLITICAL ACTIVISTS" whose photos appear on this watchlist. a political activist is NOT a terrorist by the way

Activist arrested at inauguration parade

(Hartford-AP) _ A political activist who ran the campaign of a Rell gubernatorial campaign opponent was arrested during this week's inaugural parade.
Kenneth Krayeske of Hartford was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer on Wednesday. Police say he ran up to the street and tried to step into the parade route near Rell.
He'd been the campaign manager last fall for Green Party gubernatorial candidate Cliff Thornton.
According to a police report, officers recognized Krayeske from pictures on a watch list of political activists who Homeland Security officials had labeled as a potential threat. ...............

State Called Man `Threat' January 6, 2007 By MARK PAZNIOKAS, Courant Staff Writer

Gov. M. Jodi Rell's security detail only watched when a woman left the sidewalk and quickly walked toward Rell during the inaugural parade Wednesday. The woman shook Rell's hand and melted into the crowd. But a slightly built man who jumped off a mountain bike and ran into the parade route ahead of Rell was intercepted by a state trooper and arrested by a Hartford police officer. One difference in the way the two incursions were handled: A state police intelligence unit had previously identified the man, Ken Krayeske, as a political activist and potential threat.A Hartford police report released Friday by Krayeske says that state police had given them photographs of activists who might be "possible threats" to Rell, including Krayeske, a free-lance journalist and anti-war protester who managed the Green Party's gubernatorial campaign. His lawyer says Krayeske apparently came to the attention of state police by heckling Rell during a campaign stop in Glastonbury last year over her refusal to debate his candidate, Clifford Thornton."Are there little circles of law-enforcement officers who have lists of who is naughty and who is nice?" asked Krayeske's lawyer, Norm Pattis. "What is the criteria for inclusion?"Lt. J. Paul Vance, a spokesman for the state police, declined to comment on how Krayeske came to the attention of the state police intelligence unit or a regional police clearinghouse mentioned in the report, the Connecticut Intelligence Center."We share intelligence. We share information," Vance said..............

it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Even if Krayeske was going to approach Rell, it's not illegal to talk to people, and excessive force was used.

it sounds just like Mark Stark's roughing up at the Allen event (and he's a WHITE GUY.. imagine if he was NOT caucasian?) that was caught on tape. Its getting dangererous to be a law student and ask questions nowadays...

My parents always taught me to respect the police. My grandmother told me to fear them. I guess Grams was right all along.

most cops i've met are wonderful. however, cops like every one are humans. there are tons of id-jits in the human race - soooooooooooooo

it's also tough when one has to follow a lot of rules and orders for a living. if something comes down from on high, even if one disagrees, one has to follow the order.

i DO know connecticut is NOT teeming with terrorists.

i DO know connecticut is NOT teeming with terrorists.

well, I'm pretty sure they're not bicycle riding campaign managers for gubernatorial candidates.. I mean, really...!!

Most of the cops I know are a little angry at SOMETHING. Maybe not me, but SOMETHING. Then again, this is New Milford...

After reading more about this arrest, it wasn't the local cops. They were just the footsoldiers

yeah most terrorists are as you describe them!

i know cops are put in some precarious situations. i know i couldn't do what they do. sure some are angry and i've met my share of not so nice ones. in the past few years though, i've had nothing but good experiences.
