Five Teens Arrested In Doughnut Incident
The Hartford Courant June 13 2006
TOLLAND -- Five teenagers were arrested early Sunday and charged with throwing doughnuts at a state trooper and his car, fleeing the scene and eventually backing into two troopers with their Jeep, police said.Trooper Patrick Mulcahy was driving north on Cider Mill Road at 12:45 a.m. Sunday when he and his car were pelted with doughnuts. Mulcahy and Trooper James O'Donnell, who was in a second car with a police canine, stopped and chased the five teens through the woods to their Jeep, which was parked in the lot behind town hall, said Lt. Alaric Fox, commander of Troop C in Tolland. The driver backed the Jeep out and hit both troopers, police said. The four teens in the Jeep were arrested. The fifth was found later that morning, police said. All were released to their parents that morning.....

...and maybe you are not exactly brilliant for ignoring the fact that it is dark at 12:45 AM in towns like Tolland and the police car was either unmarked or had the low profile flashers that are not obvious. But you are correct, you would have to be pretty stupid to (knowingly) throw any type of pastry at a police car. Let he/she who is without sin cast the first doughnut....
i'm guessing you're the very same anonymous that called me 'two-bit' in another comment you made.
you know what anonymous? i don't think i like you
nope, wasn't me; i've never called anyone two-bit, but I do prefer that you continue to not like me.
ahhhhhh you're probably ok
i would like to think that i am more or less ok, but can anyone be trusted to perform a completely objective character self assesment?
by the bye, did you read in the courant that all charges against the one "adult" were dropped?
no, i didn't read the charges were dropped.
i think i'm fairly on the mark with my self-assesment. however, you're right it's not completely objective in most cases
of course you didn't read that the charges were dropped, and no one ever will. that is how the media operates, telling you only the part of the story they want you to hear. but i can assure you that on 8/9 the charges were dropped against the one person named out of the five.
are you the one 'adult'?
i am an adult, but not the one adult; however, you are on the right track.
an adult and a parent
and now you know why i was a little upset about your use of the word stupid. unlike the newspapers and talk shows, at least you did not use his name, for which I thank you. those who don't know him know only his name and that he was arrested. those who do know him know that he is a good kid who has never been in any trouble, has held a consistent job every since turning 16, plays oboe in the Willimantic symphony, enters the UCONN school of engineering on the main campus this fall and that the charges were dropped. but that is life.
so, how are you doing?
perhaps stupid was not the word i should have used. HOWEVER, we've all done some unwise things at that age. hell, i'm still doing an occasional unwise thing here and there. doesn't mean we're bad people. i know that!
and i'm doing well thanks. i trust you are too
oh and congratulations on your son going to uconn engineering school! (and playing the oboe. i've always liked the oboe)
THANK YOU! and now that my cover is blown, i better bid you adieu. police, donuts...the news media couldn't resist! have you seen this one? http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003181328_webdoughnut07.html
oh, and I apologize for my first few words in my very first comment.
adieu
and no i hadn't seen the article. thanks for linking to it.
may you find what you seek on any path you take
