Chickens generally do not cross roads, therefore, no harm ,no foul. Any reference to the false notion that the cartoon "depicts explicit images" of the content of concern can be forgotten. It simply does not happen. There's a door in the background with chains and a lock on it. There's a character in a bathtub. To say it "depicts explicit images" is nothing short of a lie. Next, way too much focus on the discalimer. Not enough "Oh, I get it, it's not crazy enough as it is, so put a completely zany disclaimer after. It's another piece of the cartoon." They call it a sense of humor because you are required to sense things, even things so lead-pipe obvious as hyperbole. Also, outrage at someone who's job it is to probe new territory is insanity. We pay people to make us laugh, because it is so hard to do on our own. Ever see the Simpsons episode where Mr. Burns can't find a portrait artist he likes? The humor is in the fact that he's so upset about a problem we'd all love to have. Lastly, the uproar is likely to overshadow the fact that this is obviously a talented cartoonist. Visually it is a strikingly beautiful piece of comic art, outstanding in a morass of poorly drawn, unfunny dreck. Drone on and worry yourselves over something that matters. Personally, I think this issue is exploiting the core democratic value: Pursuit of Happiness. In our country everyone has the right to pursue happiness in their own way as long as they don't violate the rights others. Minorities have the right to find happiness in their education, which there at liberty to do. To interfere with them being comfortable and proud as they travel through campus is such a big crime! If any girl was caught being urinated on by a anyone, I would want to here about the charges against individual with the obscene nature and how that individual will have to pay. I'm not completely sure by the information in this blog if this was a private and consented incident or rape type of an issue. To exploit and embarass the girl who was treated like a toilet is horrible and I would consider it to be harassment! In all my claims, the newspaper as a whole should have to take responsibility for their publishing and understand that there job is to spread the news everyone will benefit from knowing; not for humiliation towards certain minority groups that were equal enough to learn in the same college that non-minorities are recieving education. Things like this really set us back.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
